You will access the event on the day-of via the Zoom link above. We’ll start the meeting about 15 minutes ahead of time and recommend you hop on then, so we can work out any technological kinks before the start time. Please make sure that the name on your Zoom account is your actual name, so we know to let you in early. 

 

Our usual event format is as follows: the Napa Bookmine host will give a short introduction then turn it over to the author, who can speak and/or read for about 40 minutes, at which point we will have a short question and answer session. We aim for about an hour for each event, though going over or under is perfectly fine. If you prefer a different format or would like to share a slideshow, please inform us at least a week ahead of the event so we can properly prepare. If you would like someone to interview you, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can be prepared, or send us a list of interview questions you would like the host to ask.

 

We ask that all attendees Register on Eventbrite. The registration page for your event can be found here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/267737348617 All registered attendees will automatically receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite as well as a reminder email the day before and day-of with a link to access the event. If you would like to know how many people have registered at any given point, let us know and we’ll provide an update. 

 

We record our events to share with the author and publisher after the event and have been working on building out our YouTube channelWe do not distribute these event recordings without author/publisher permission. Please let us know if we have permission to share your event on our YouTube channel.

 

As for marketing the event, we plan to do the following: 

-Website listing: we’ve added the event to the events calendar on our website (see link above) 

-Event newsletters: your event will be included in our general newsletter(s) starting a month prior to your event. We will also be sending a dedicated event + book blast to a targeted audience via Edelweiss360 on the day of the event. We’re happy to add you to our mailing list if you’d like to receive these emails.

-Social media: we’ve created a Facebook event (see link above) and will promote your event on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter channels leading up to the event. We will also share any posts you make about the event to our audience if you tag us at @napabookmine.

-Encourage book purchase: we try to encourage attendees to purchase the book from our website whenever possible. You can find the link to your book on our website here: https://www.napabookmine.com/book/9781632994844

 

We have seen the most success with virtual events where the author/publisher promotes the event to their audiences in addition to our marketing efforts. When authors/publishers promote we usually see about 3-4x as many attendees and 2x the amount of book sales. If you could add the event to your website calendar, share it in your newsletter, and post on social media it would be much appreciated!
